Garrison Park Recreation Field has a new vehicle barrier fence

Garrison Park recreation field has a new vehicle barrier fence. This fence has replaced the old split rail fence that was rotting and did not provide the level of protection that was needed to keep vehicles from driving into the park after hours and destroying the turf and sports fields. The funds for this project were provided by a State of Connecticut Local Jag Grant funded by ARRA money. Garrison Recreation Park is a huge asset to the Town of Chaplin adding quality of life and recreation for our residents. Every day of the week you will find that residents are enjoying Garrison Park. There is always something is going on be it sports, benefits, concerts, gatherings or maybe just a resident just sitting and relaxing. The Board of Selectman and the Recreation Commission are very pleased with the outcome of this project and we are all confident that this fence will help to protect the beauty that is Garrison Park.
