Animal Control

As of January 1, 2014 Northeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (NECCOG) will provide animal control services to Chaplin's residents.  The program is available 24/7/365 and NECCOG always has an Animal Control Officer (ACO) on duty.  Calls, during regular business hours, are taken by the NECCOG switchboard and then processed to provide a timely response.  Calls after hours and on weekends are taken by the answering service.  Based on the nature of the call, the ACO may be called immediately (animal hit by car) or it may be held for action (barking dog) during regular business hours.

The NECCOG staff includes a full-time ACO who also serves as the program director (this person has more than 25 years experience in animal control), two part-time ACO's and secretarial/administrative staff through NECCOG.

To contact NECCOG call 860-774-1253 or email at animalcontrol@neccog.org This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or online at neccog.org.

Looking to adopt a pet?  You can view the pets that need homes by visiting NECCOG's website.
