Responsibilities of Board Members

Board members are guided in their work by the CABE Code of Ethics for Boards of Education.  A Board member’s first responsibility is to advocate for high-quality, free public education for all Chaplin children. This includes working to help members of the community understand the importance of proper support for public education, which includes, among other things, adequate financial support for the school; optimum facilities; optimum staffing and resources; and excellence in educational programming.Board members are not involved in the day-to-day operation of the school and have no individual authority other than their votes at board meetings.
